Restaurants: It’s time to order heart-shaped truffles for Valentine’s Day from Dandy Don’s Ice Cream.  We have white-chocolate and dark-chocolate covered ice cream hearts with sorbet centers.

We know there are other ice cream companies out there working every day to create a wonderful product.  One of those companies is Greater’s Ice Cream located in Cincinnati, Ohio.  Dandy Don’s Ice Cream wishes to extend a hearty congratulations to Greater’s Ice Cream for being awarded Plant of the Year by Dairy Foods magazine.  You can read the cover story about them here.  And here’s a nice photo of the owners, fourth-generation owners at that.

We here at Dandy Don’s Ice Cream are thinking about starting up an Ice Cream Club.  We would send out one pint per month perhaps to willing ice cream eaters.  We would ship our classic flavors like Vanilla Bean and Cappuccino Crunch, our seasonal flavors like Harry’s Berries Strawberry and Pumpkin Praline, and experimental or very limited-run flavors like Birthday Cake Ice Cream.  If this sounds good to you, give us a call or send an email to promotions@dandydons.com to let us know.

Now that it’s cold outside, affogato is a must.  What’s that, you ask?  Why an affogato is an Italian treat of a scoop of ice cream (usually Vanilla Bean) drowning in a shot of hot espresso.  Steamy and cold all at once.  Delicious!  When we serve affogato treats, we have people who like to mix it up by adding a bit of hot fudge or using Chocolate ice cream.  We hand them out with a Biscoff cookie for that authentic European touch.

The original Dandy Don, sports legend Don Meredith, died today.  We’re going to do everything we can to keep his nickname alive.
