Dandy Don’s Ice Cream recently served 2000 ice cream scoops to employees in the Sun America building in Century City.

The scoops of home-made ice cream were given out as incentives to tenants for complying with the fire drill happening that day.

Dandy Don’s stationed employees bearing ice cream across 38 floors of the building and handed out 2000 sundaes over a six-and-a-half-hour time period. Shwew!

The fire drill was a success.

The ice cream social for “The West Wing” came one day after the presidential show won its Emmys. Bette Midler celebrated the high ratings of the debut of her show “Bette” with an ice cream social for her cast and crew.

Dandy Don’s HomeMade Ice Cream served sundaes Tuesday night, August 15th, at a reception for Senator Edward Kennedy following his speech at the Democratic National Convention in downtown Los Angeles. The reception was given by Kennedy’s niece, Maria Shriver, and her husband Arnold Schwartzenegger at their Pacific Palisades estate. Savory snacks and pastries were provided by Spago restaurant while Dandy Don’s Ice Cream served hot fudge sundaes to NBC correspondents and Democratic politicians. Arnold Schwartzenegger polished off a double sundae made with Vanilla and Cappuccino Crunch ice cream. Other guests included Brian Williams, Tim Russert, Tom Brokaw, Jim Miklashevsky, Tom Arnold, and many more.

When producers of the television show “Blind Date” called Dandy Don to see if they could film a segment of their real-life dating-experience show at his ice cream factory, Don said, “Sure!”

The T.V. crew showed up at the plant in Van Nuys on Thursday evening to film the couple making ice cream together. Chea and Jeff helped Don make a batch of vanilla in the large format machine, and then made a small batch of brown sugar ice cream in a home-use machine. Jeff was left drooling. Of course, that could have been because of Chea’s hot pink tube top.

We’re not sure that Jeff and Chea made a match, but we are pretty sure that the show will be worth watching. You won’t believe some of Jeff’s uncouth comments. Or Chea’s figure. This segment should air in about 3 months on channel 13 at 6 p.m. and 11 p.m.
