The producers of “90210″ asked Dandy Don’s Ice Cream to make pastel ice cream for an episode entitled “To New Beginnings.”  People Magazine ran this shot from the set.  It’s of AnnaLynne McCord, Jessica Lowndes, and Jessica Stroup licking away.

Jen Levinson, a bubbly energetic mom of 5 boys who writes a daily email blast, mentioned Dandy Don’s Ice Cream Social in a Box in her Friday email.  After a short description of the portable ice cream party she said: “We just had it at a family get together and it was a total hit!”

Pulitzer-prize winning food writer Jonathan Gold of the L.A. Weekly mentioned Dandy Don’s Ice Cream in a story he wrote about hot dogs.  While talking about Marty D’s, he said, “There is a lot to like about Marty D’s, from the excellent French fries to the hot-fudge sundaes made with Dandy Don’s ice cream, from the Brill Building songs on the sound system to the almost aggressively cheerful demeanor of the staff.”

Marty D’s hot dog shop has a review posted at Gayot.com.  They give Marty D’s props for their gourmet dogs.  Gayot also gave Dandy Don’s Ice Cream a shout out:  “Desserts are a highlight, featuring sundaes made from Dandy Don’s ice cream and topped with hot fudge, marshmallow or butterscotch under whipped cream and nuts. The shop also offers satisfying shakes, malts, egg creams and floats.”

Kitchen 24 in Hollywood serves Dandy Don’s Ice Cream in a Waffle Ice Cream Sundae with candied walnuts and Hershey’s chocolate sauce.  They also use Dandy Don’s Vanilla Bean ice cream on top of their skillet cookie (chocolate chip) covered in chocolate and caramel sauces.  Shakes are made with Dandy Don’s Chocolate, Vanilla and Strawberry ice creams.
